MEET PASTOR TOM

Tom Thomas was officially voted in as Pastor of Cold Springs Valley Church on May 3, 2015. He gave his first sermon as Pastor of the church on May 31, 2015. Tom and his family were welcomed with a pot-luck luncheon following the church service, and on 09/13/2015, Cold Springs Valley Church celebrated his ordination.

When I was 20, newly married with a newborn baby, I had a constant fear of death. One day while I was driving with my dad, I started to tell him that I knew that if I died I was going to hell. He pulled the truck over at the gravel pile between Stead and Red Rock and proceeded to tell me that it was Jesus Christ that I needed. He prayed with me and that day that Jesus became real to me and I accepted Christ.

I believe that The Lord is calling me to minister in new and different ways. I don’t feel that God has released me from the call of discipleship in Mcdermitt as of yet.

I have been an Usher, Building and Grounds Maintenance, Adult Couples Sunday School Teacher, Children’s Camp Counselor, Youth Leader, Deacon, In-Home Bible Study Facilitator, McDermitt Discipleship, Preaching.

I have two children that also support the ministries I've taken on.

I like all kinds of music including contemporary Christian and Christian rap. Casting Crowns, Lecrae, Tenth Avenue North are some of the artists I listen to.

I like to hunt, hike, fish, target practice, and watch movies.

I like to vacation, going to Disneyland, camping, and visiting family.
